På morgonen kommer hon lite sent till kontoret. Tåget stod stilla i nästan en halvtimme utanför Märsta, men hon hann i alla fall ringa en del samtal under tiden. Mötet har redan börjat, och hon ursäktar sig. Ingen fara, säger ordföranden överseende. Jag vet nog hur det kan vara med dagislämningar och sånt där.

Skönt, han är inte arg.

Mot slutet av mötet är det hennes tur att rapportera om hur det går med budgetarbetet. Presentationen som hon gjort ligger på laptopen, men hon har glömt adaptern på skrivbordet. Någon har som tur är en extra. Jag brukar alltid få hjälpa min fru att koppla ihop prylarna hemma, säger han.

Hon andas ut. Vilken tur att det ordnade sig!

När det blir dags för lunch så frågar personalchefen om hon vill följa med till kvartersrestaurangen och diskutera ett besparingsförslag som han funderat på. Fast de har inga sallader och sånt där, men jag vet ett annat ställe som tjejerna i receptionen brukar gå till om vill du testa det istället?

På eftermiddagen intervjuas hon för en branschtidning. Hon rättar till kavajen, sträcker på sig och tittar in i kameran. Vänta, det blir inte rätt, säger fotografen och ställer sig på en stol så att perspektivet blir ett annat. Så. Och så ler vi.

Det är hennes snyggaste vinkel. Hur kunde han veta det?

Sedan är det dags att svara på frågor. Hon har förberett sig noga. Kan allt om de nya processorerna och vad fabriksstrejken i Kina egentligen handlade om. Kan du berätta om hur du är som mamma? frågar journalisten. Det måste vara tufft, visst?

Hon är en förebild för många kvinnor, det vet hon ju.

På kvällen går hon på en stor galamiddag, med kanapéer på silverbrickor och kristallkronor i taket. Hon ska ta emot ett pris, gå upp på en scen, säga några ord om medarbetare som inspirerat och det hårda arbete som till slut betalat sig. Konferenciern harklar sig och presenterar henne. Till en vacker kvinna som alltid möter dagen med ett leende. Det här är du värd!
